For all the expensive glass people I just don't get it. 2-3000$ is the better part of a low end NRA piece or at least a down payment on a nice one
Or a lot of 54r.

Some folks cant have or are not interested in feeding a nfa piece. To each is own, but really nice glass is something, like nfa is most difficult the first time. There is always something more if you just "save up".
For the cost of 3 mark 4 leupolds you could have had a uso scope.
For the cost of a uso scope you could have had a mac.
For the cost of 4 macs you could have had a entry level real mg.
For the cost of those 4 sideplate beltfeds you could have had a c&r factory beltfed.
For the cost of a couple of those c&r factory beltfeds you could have had a truly rare museum piece. (us maxim ect...)
It never stops because there is always a next level.
I must say I would rather have a uso scope than a mac. Just me. But each person has a level of quality they are satisfied with and they will typically find a way to get to that level.
Sort of like every person has a level where time is worth more to them than money. By that i mean every one has a level of wealth that once achieved, they are willing to not work any more hours to improve their quality of life beyond what it is. This level varies in each person from welfare in some to seemingly unlimited for others, but every person at some point is willing to taper off and maintain rather than continue to try and excell. Taking time to smell the roses if you will. Whew that got off base
