When did barret ship with a bushnell? I had the swarovski and then they went to leuopold? As far as I knew.

For all the expensive glass people I just don't get it. 2-3000$ is the better part of a low end NRA piece or at least a down payment on a nice one

Or a lot of 54r.

Some folks cant have or are not interested in feeding a nfa piece. To each is own, but really nice glass is something, like nfa is most difficult the first time. There is always something more if you just "save up".
For the cost of 3 mark 4 leupolds you could have had a uso scope.
For the cost of a uso scope you could have had a mac.
For the cost of 4 macs you could have had a entry level real mg.
For the cost of those 4 sideplate beltfeds you could have had a c&r factory beltfed.
For the cost of a couple of those c&r factory beltfeds you could have had a truly rare museum piece. (us maxim ect...)
It never stops because there is always a next level.

I must say I would rather have a uso scope than a mac. Just me. But each person has a level of quality they are satisfied with and they will typically find a way to get to that level.
Sort of like every person has a level where time is worth more to them than money. By that i mean every one has a level of wealth that once achieved, they are willing to not work any more hours to improve their quality of life beyond what it is. This level varies in each person from welfare in some to seemingly unlimited for others, but every person at some point is willing to taper off and maintain rather than continue to try and excell. Taking time to smell the roses if you will. Whew that got off base

Go with a NF 5.5-22 you'll be happy.. remember you sight in and Zero a 50BMG at 500 meters...go out from there... Cheap scopes and the 50BMG do not go together.. On the 50 BMG 1000 yard match down the line 95% of the scopes on the guns are Nightforce...The Burris tac rings are nice and only $50 or so.. good price for them.. B2B

Barrett did ship with the Elite 3200 10x40 scopes on the M99. There are still Barrett scoped packages for sale on the net with factory installed Bushnells. I see that their website doesnt show any scope packages anymore. Anyway Bushnell will replace the scope if something goes wrong no questions asked.

I have owned 3 of these scopes all on high power rifles. The one on my .50 now has 400 rounds under its belt and no problems and no loosing zero issues.

For $200 its a good choice, leaves more money for ammo.
