OK, let me reiterate: I already have a hard case with wheels. It is too heavy and unwieldy to manage.

I cannot leave it uncased as it is too long to fit in my CR-V without folding a seat down, and I refuse to leave a weapon openly visible when I do not have direct control of it all the time, nor do I want officer freindly going apeshit because 'there is a machinegun in the backseat!" if i get pulled over or Johnny Teenager T-bones me at a stopsign.

I want a soft case, canvas or nylon that is large enough to fit a 1919A4 with an A6 stock attached.

I need another wood crate like a need a hole in the head!

Ok I've thought on this some more and after reviewing my movie collection I forgot that you could do like Brig. Gen. Jack D. Ripper in Dr. Strangelove and use a golf bag. Other then that they don't make them that big.

A .50 cal barrel cover fits the A4. A section could be added to extend it to make up the length for the A6. It lacks a handle but that is an easy mod.
I added some ties to it and it covers the BMG while mounted on my jeep.
I bougth this one for seven dollar surplus.

Myself if folk see it, that is a chance to spread he hobby.

Thanks,
TomE

Some folks use golf bags, the kind with wheels.

the garand parachute drop bag thing is big enough for the 14.. the a6 might actually fit, or just have a little bit of the butt hanging out.

Rory,

good callon the parachute drop bag, that had occurred to me, adn I think CTD has them for $20...

However, I found an even more inexpensive and durable solution for the moment- a local surplus shop had canvas shelter halves for sale $5 each. They are plenty big enough, just lay out with the gun angling across, roll halfway up, fold the ends in (like wraping a sndwich at a fast food place) and roll the rest of the way. Two cheap bungee cords, a pretty girl to help me manuever it all (she was free) and I have a well wrapped 1919 for under $10.
