Review: Tripod Drawings CD

Some of you mentioned that you wanted to see shop drawings of the M2 tripod. Orin Harding's done you one better, bringing you a CD with all the Rock Island Armory's specs, parts lists, and detailed info on their own M2 tripod. This information was created and submitted by C.A. Waldmann, Colonel, Ordnance Department, and approved by Brigadier General J. Kirk, Ordnance Department, Industrial Service, Small Arms Division in May of 1945. The documents (in PDF format) include:

  • C Series Drawings

There are over 90 original-sized drawings and prints, all in Adobe PDF format, right down to every nut, bolt and screw. The Adobe PDF viewer is also included on the CD.

The text in the manuals was scanned in high resolution, so you can zoom in and won't lose any clarity until you go beyond 400 percent, and you can easily read it down to 33 percent. Here's a screen capture of the text at 42 percent:
