Price check on MG34 LAFETTE TRIPOD MOUNT

I have a MG34 LAFETTE TRIPOD MOUNT with the bolt box and data plate that will be for sale not sure of the current market value. The tripod is functional. Please advise of what item could be sold for. There is a company mg34.com that is listing theres for $1895 but I think theres is a bit high on price.

I seen a guy selling one on this board the other day for $350.
I would rather have it, and not need it, Then need it, and not have it!

    There is a difference between a Lafette and an MG3 Ground tripod....MG3's go for $350 - $400.

Prices on these things vary greatly.

I dont know what condition MG34.com mount is, but $1800ish dollars seems like a good buy. A couple months ago a good MG34 tripod with postwar paint etc would have been in the $2500 range with original unmessed with WW2 examples bringing anywhere from $3500-$6k.

The MG34.com mounts are the first ones I have seen on the commercial market for a long time. If I did not already have one, I would have bought one of theirs. They have become pretty hard to find. Does your tripod have original paint, or is it a postwar repaint?

    Post war

Very much post war paint. originals would be dark olive or ordanace tan. Also, the back pads on this are cloth covered where originals would be pebblegrain or striated leather. Horse, pig, or cow. Look for eveidence of red lead oxide primer in the nooks and crannies. If not present, complete postwar rebuild. JMTC, Frazer

Beg to differ here regarding original colors, but lafette 34 tripods were often painted dunklegrau RAL 7021 (panzer gray), a very dark gray with some green overtones. Pre war, these were often camoed with a dark brown Ral 7017 (the same camo as pre-war Reichswehr tanks).

Looks to me like transitchest's lafette was completely stripped ( a LOT of work) and repainted with Krylon dark gray primer and Krylon Ruddy Brown primer in an attempt to simulate this early/pre-war camo scheme.

There is a guy on the MG42 board that owns a lafette 34 with original paint in this color combo and I own a barrel carrier with original paint in this color combo.
