Its been quite some time for me...

The barrel will need to be threaded for the receiver, 24mm x 1mm lead IIRC.

Is there enough meat there carl ?? I don't think so because if you had a DSA receiver and used an original barrel you turned it down. ??

Excellent question, I dunno. Today's barrels are made for pressing into unthreaded receivers and pinning.

I'll throw a mic on the stub I have left. But they're correct about the original barrel being threaded. I wasn't pleased with the DSA barrels I used in the last two builds.

I thinks that's a good decision. Down the road, a rewelded weapon won't sell.

I forgot about this honestly. The weather hasn't been great here. But I'll put a mic on what I've got tomorrow. The DSA barrels I used, I recall having to turn them down a little to press into the DSA receiver. But what I can't recall is how much I had to take off them. (It wasn't much as I recall.) That's what will decide If you can thread the DSA barrels. I can certainly get the OD of the barrel I took mine down to (DSA semi receiver).

All of that aside, can I ask the direction of the build? While I don't like the DSA barrels, the receivers are good. All the RPDs I've built were semi hosts. The bolt carrier was registered as a conversion device. Makes for things to be flexible later on. I can keep my RPD and just part with the bolt if I give up my license. I could be completely off base here though, just making an assumption since you're talking re-weld.

Point of clarification, the original firearm was a threaded barrel that was pinned as well. There's no shoulder in the receiver for the barrel to come to a stop on.
